PLEASE NOTE: We have a NEW dropoff traffic pattern this year!

News Blog Category - News Frances Slocum Elementary families, please note that our traffic pattern for car rider arrival in the mornings has changed!

Cars will now drive around the back parking lot before turning in front of the school to the dropoff zone. (This is the same route around the back parking lot that we have used in years past for dismissal in the afternoon.) We hope that this will clear out some of the traffic backup on 30th Street, as well as allow our staff members to enter and park in the back parking lot. Car riders will still be dropped off at the front doors in the morning and will be picked up at the cafeteria doors in the afternoon. The path that the vehicles take to get to that point is what will change in the morning.

Preschool students will be dropped off and picked up at their outside classroom doors. (This year preschool classrooms are located at the front of the building facing 30th Street.) Parents must park in the front parking lot and walk their preschool child to their door in the morning.

We appreciate your patience during the first few days of school, as everyone gets used to these changes.

We look forward to seeing your students on Thursday, Aug. 9. It's going to be a great year!
